Gallo's Who Drank The Rest Of My Merlot Face
It's only January and it may still be freezing outside but the Kingston race for Mayor is already heating up with Mayor Shayne Gallo and Alderman at large Jim Noble fighting in today's Freeman. Gallo accused Noble of political shenanigans for allowing Party boss Joe Donaldson to break the 4-4 tie for Majority Leader between Matt Dunn and Elisa Ball last week. Gallo went on to say "this is exactly the nonsense the public is feed up with." Alderman at Large Noble's position on the matter was that the City's Democratic Chair should be the one to break the tie. Ironically Gallo, who says Noble has no clue, goes on to falsely state that Noble allowed an unelected party boss to decide who's Majority Leader. First, yes it's true Joe Donalson is the Boss of the City's Democratic Party. Donaldson was elected as Chair unanimously by the City's Democratic committee , which is made up of a group of committeeman, that are also elected by rank and file Democrats, to represent them on party matters.
We feel that Alderman at Large Noble did the right thing and here's why we think so: Let's say for example that Jim Noble was a registered Republican, would he than have the right as Alderman at Large to pick who the Democratic Majority Leader should be in that situation? Now that would be shenanigans!! We honestly do not get Mayor Gallo's point nor do we understand why he would start a fight over an issue that is so inside baseball and at the same time beat his chest against Noble in the Freeman about this being an issue he is fighting for on behalf of the people. We were wrong to call Mayor Gallo insecure in our previous post, he's not insecure, he's delusional! Gallo thinks in a city that has no job growth and high taxes that the public gives two shits who broke the tie for Majority Leader between Matt Dunn and Elisa Ball? To them all that story represents is their bipolar Mayor running that big fucking mouth of his again.
While Gallo calls Jim Noble clueless, let's point out some facts that happened before our bukyak Mayor's time:
When Andi Turco Levin got elected Alderman, her and Ron Polacco were the only two Republicans on the council. Both wanted to be Minority Leader, it was Tony Sinagra, the Republican Chairman that broke that tie.
We also recall vaguely that when Mayor Gallo's bff Rich Cahill was on the common council, Alderman Senor who was still a Republican at the time ran against him for Leader and the GOP City Chair at the time Jean Jacobs stepped in and broke that tie as well, in Cahill's favor I should add.
So this is not some political shenanigans on the part of Alderman at Large Noble, it is actually the complete opposite of that, it's a man that is doing his job and if anything is not getting involved with the party politics of it all and remaining impartial. Alderman at large Noble is just that, he is the at large Alderman, who oversees the entire council, the council committees, which he also assigns and as President of the council he works with Aldermen of both political parties. Gallo is picking a fight for no reason here. Lastly on this and the biggest reason why we think Gallo is losing it, whether it had been Donaldson or Noble that voted to break the tie the outcome would of been the same. Both men would have voted for Matt Dunn.
Furthermore, Gallo criticized Noble for allowing Majority Leader Dunn to give a state of the city address saying he changed the rules to allow this. Unless we are misunderstanding what speech Gallo is referring to, both the Majority leader and Minority Leader have always given an annual address at the beginning of each year since Kingston was the Capitol of New York State. Minority Leader Brown declined to give one last year only because Andy Zweben didn't write it for her in time. Seriously though, if she wanted to give one she could have just like this year. Who can forget the hour long speeches BFF Cahill would give when he was the Minority Leader. Who is advising Shayne Gallo????
,
To answer your last question.... Dr. Nassar Habeeb. That is who advises Gallo!
ReplyDeleteWe've heard that Dr. Habeeb may run Gallo's reelection campaign and that surprises us a great deal. We will say this, we love Nassar Habeeb, he is a brilliant man. Even if Nassar does end up running the Gallo reelection campaign, he certainty is not advising Gallo on a day to day basis. Gallo is extremely smart to pick Habeeb and very lucky Habeeb agreed if that's the case. Habeeb has run three successful campaigns for Mayor and Gallo will need all the help he can get.
ReplyDeleteHabeeb that filthy fat bastard. Who in their right mind would let that dirty slob put his hands in their mouth. His office should be getting a visit from the reality show Hoarders any moment. Gallo needs all the help and luck he can get...even if it comes in the form of a filthy pig!
DeleteYou know the guy is educated from Columbia and one of the smartest people we have ever met. Don't judge a book by it's cover.
DeleteI guess they don't teach you to shower regularly at Columbia. He is disgusting!
DeleteAre there any truth to the rumors that Holly Carnright has a complaint from a woman against Gallo. I heard the texts that she provided are very inappropriate and down right cruel. If she presses charges or goes to the press, Gallo will not have a reelection campaign to worry about.
ReplyDeleteThe rumors are true. The texts are threatening to the woman and racist in general. Even though she has decided not to press charges against Gallo I would like to see the Daily Freeman obtain the texts and publish them. After all, Gallo is all for transparency he tells us.
ReplyDeleteWe know someone that'd pay at least 5 boxes of ziti for the release of those texts
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely a reporter who would be interested in confirming that.
DeleteI would think the reporter would only have to foil the information from the District Attorneys office.
ReplyDeleteWhat specifically would they ask for? Around what time would the complaint have been filed? And wouldn't it have gone through the police first?
