Steve Noble Running for Mayor

Steve Noble announced today for Mayor across the street from where Mayor Shayne Gallo announced four years ago. Other candidates still considering but this means that Jim Noble is out of consideration for the top spot. The next few months will be entertaining to say the least.

  8. Gallo announced his candidacy one block from the old Bank of America building that he authorized the City to take ownership of for a new Police Station. Bank of America paid $40,000 a year in taxes. Now we have a empty building on Broadway, $40,000 less each year in taxes, and no new Police Station. Gallo has to go.

  10. I know this is off topic..but have you all seen this? Hein is an arrogant asshole and Keith Bennett and Massee his 2 henchmen should be ashamed.

    Hello All;
    A lot of you may not know me, but as I've been asked to relay a message to the Veteran community from the Ulster County Veteran Service Agency, and I've borrowed the email addresses on Bob Chappelle's "Kingston Veterans Association new web site on line today " email to broaden the reach. Please forward this on to others who need to know.

    I was asked to a meeting with Steve Massee and Keith Bennett this afternoon. They had had a meeting with Mike Hein yesterday and Mike has made a request of the Veteran community. Either we back off openly attacking him and his Veteran initiatives, or he will stop any, and all, County funding of Veteran initiatives, and fund requests; period.

    Simple things like the Mike Hein's plaque at the new memorial, or just inviting him to attend a Veterans event, seems to cause only visceral animosity. We Veterans currently stand next to a plaque, that was placed in front of City Hall by Mayor Gallo in 1971, stating that Mayor Gallo erected the plaque, every Memorial Day and Veterans Day. All across this land, most monuments raised by politicians, state the politicians names on those monuments. Inviting local politicians to attend a local event is just a nod to the link between Veterans and politicians. We do not have to ask them to speak, nor do we need to announce them, just invite them out of courtesy.

    This is not a request to change our political opinions, only to allow any requests for funds from we the Veterans, or initiative ideas by Mike Hein, to flow unhindered between us without the political animosity.

    So, to restate the request, either we allow Mike the credit due him for his work in the Veteran community, or we willingly close the door on all future County funds under his administration.

    Steve Massee has made himself available to anyone who wishes to discuss this issue further.

    Thank you.

  12. Gallo loses another lawsuit the Board Housing on West Chestnut St. How much is this guy going to cost the City in legal fees?

  13. the west chestnut st matter is still in the courts. Go back and read article carefully. Sangi cannot move anymore people in until zoning issue has a ruling. City is now allowed to inspect the facility. . Get your facts straight before shooting off your mouth. . Several administrations ago made an error on the zoning. Way before Gallo. The mayor is trying to make it right for the neighborhood.
