Breaking News: DiFalco Out as Ulster Indy Boss; Bernardo Returns to the Helm

A complaint filed with the state board of elections was determined by officials to be creditable over an alleged backroom deal between newly elected Ulster County Independence Chairman Joe DiFalco  and Ulster Republican Party Don Roger Rascoe had been conspiring  in backroom deals where DiFalco as Indy party boss promised the GOP Don that hr would only consider supporting Repiblican  candidates. As a result DiFalco has been stripped  as Chairman and long time party Chairman Len Bernardo is back in charge just in time for endorsements. Joe DiFalco still may have a silver lining in all this, we hear he will soon be inducted as the shortest tenured party Chairman of all time by Guiness World Records. A recent fundraiser by the county Independence Party held last week in Kingston under DiFalco's leadership will not be allowed to be used by the party. We know under Bernardo a fair endorsement process will take place and candidates will get endorsed on merit not the major party line that is supporting them.

  1. That’s funny, because Joe was not called to court, so how did a judge rule against him under Election Law, presumably, without being heard at a fair hearing? Joe was called up to an Indy State Committee meeting for ’regular party business,’ without knowing he was the only item on the agenda. The rest of the story is even more fishy. Len and Joe have two completely different stories to tell, and Len is telling a third completely different story to the media, while providing copies of documents which support Joe’s version -- so far. Stay tuned, because the real scandal here is how Len Bernardo kept money after losing his county chairmanship fair & square. The interim county committee organization, or ICO as they call it in the state rules, does not exist at the pleasure of the State Committee, it exists by virtue and operation of party rules, which do not provide for any method to dissolve it. The only way to remove Joe Difalco from his position, is to take him off the State Committee, which requires advance notice and written charges. Thursday was an ambush, stay tuned.

    1. Well, now. That puts a new spin on things, doesn't it?
      Stay tuned is right.

  2. First and foremost, for those who read this thread, they must know the author is a close associate of the duo who have tried endlessly to be powerbrokers in every area in county politics. And what you are propagating here is nothing but fucking lies so you better get your facts straight. There is no Independence Party, Committee representation now in Ulster County. And furthermore, a-hole, while you are filing the paperwork for the Guiness world records, do one for one-term lady chair of Legislature and her race for county executive. How did that work out for her? Have her illustrious husband fill out the paperwork for being a class act in his own little mind. Remember he fabricated the truth on his IDA application. He couldn’t win the CE race either and truth be known, probably won’t be able to win any race in near future unless he pays people to vote for him. People that know or have known this pair, walk away in disgust because they are just plain evil.

  3. Show us the judicial order, if this is true. Or did your pal Len Bernardo bamboozle you, Jeremy? Maybe you made the whole thing up yourself. Either way, there are enough improprieties with the Thursday Massacre, to launch a swiss cheese factory.

But let us have a little fun, in the meanwhile. Something that will bite Bernardo so hard on the bank book, that his behind will be little more than a ballot stub. There is a fishy little PAC fund that Bernardo has been misappropriating party fundraising revenues into, going all the way back to at least 2009. See this 2013 party fundraiser event, for example, one of the many tracks Bernardo neglected to cover-up.

Simply put, a PAC can raise money for a Party, but a Party cannot raise money for a PAC. Oh, this has all been archived, so if Len goes and tries to delete that FB event after today, he will just be charged with evidence tampering. Check for yourself, every other county committee deposits funds under its own name, not some shadow group. We shall see how much of that money, throughout the years, was actually donated to political candidates. Stay tuned...

    1. Agreed. PACs can give to other PACs, Parties, Candidates, ore hire their wives and buy baseball cards, hookers and hotel rooms. Political Parties in NY can support their candidates and pay for their own headquarters, but little else.

If a Party could give to a PAC, that would open up a Pandora’s Box to the electoral process, turning political parties into little more than personal slush funds. Which, apparently, is exactly what Len Bernardo appears to have done, for the past sixteen years, with the Ulster County Independence Party.

This problem only became apparent after Joe Difalco assumed control over the Independence Party’s interim Ulster County Committee. Len was supposed to turn over the remaining funds, but refused, claiming he didn’t have to, because it was all inside a PAC. Shame on the State Executive Committee for allowing this continue. UC BOE is also partly to blame, because of their notoriously lax enforcement of the campaign finance disclosure requirements.

  4. Poor Lennie, can’t even keep his wife on the County Legislature. Now he wants to be Rochester town supervisor. Hard to tell who is more medicated, wife Terry or fellow traveler Jeremy Blaber. I could go on, but you get the picture.

    1. The Bernardos have political leprosy. Even the Republicans are distancing themselves from these two un-dead flesh-eaters. Last week, Terry was turned down for a spot on the Republican county committee. She was offered instead a consolation as substitute poll-watcher, but failed the one requirement, which is a warm body temperature.

    2. Speaking of Terry, wondering why womanizer Jeremy Blaber doesn’t hit her up. Len wouldn’t mind, as long as they let him watch. Everyone knows that Jeremy knows how to REALLY please a woman. With Pharmaceuticals. Go for it, you big palooka, home-girl wants the smoosh-smoosh.

    1. It's different than county wide GOP candidates $200, town gop candidates $50 ect... Bernardo is smarter than the DiFalcos. Bernardo endorsed Hein even at one point and the fact Roger and Frank both hate him only makes it clear he did a fair job.

  11. He cannot act by himself afraid of the Democratic committee. Must be noted the Alms house is in his ward 6 and must take a stand.
