Ken Ronk will become the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature when they reconvene in January, he'll do a good job.
We strongly encourage appointing John Parete to a committee chairmanship like ways and means and making Rich Parete Majority Leader.
H- Rod (New Paltz) will become Minority Leader, how funny would it be though if at last minute Donaldson runs? This poor kid has been fucked over for every leadership position in the legislature.
Ronk as chair? That means Hein rules the legislature! It's ironic there is more checks and balances with John Parete a Democrat than there will be with Ronky boy, I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteYou could not be more correct. Hein governs as a Republican anyway so they have no reason to go against him. Parete at least put up a fight, this group will just take their just increased pay and go home, if they even show up at all.
DeleteCouple Ronk with Hector Rodriguez finally getting the booby prize of minority leader and you have a feckless, impotent and weak legislature. Hein will be walking around with an eternal hard on with those 2 leading their parties on the Legislature. He will have carte blanche!
ReplyDeleteGuess that means the Parete's are voting with the REPS even thought the DEMS thought they won the legislator
ReplyDeleteDems did not win. Reps did. Rich Parete ran as a Rep because the Dems did not want him. Is he suppose force himself on them? Can't have it both ways.
DeleteThe new Leaders will bring a positive relationship with the Legislature and Executives office BUT will not be a rubber stamp. Thus is what the electorate want, do what is best for our community not using their position for the soul purpose of making it a personal vendetta as John Parette did on behalf of Kevin Cahill. If TR was still with us and if Jim Sottile was truthful they will tell you how vindictive Kevin Cahill can be. Anyone who has had to deal with him, ask many of the past employees, what a story that would be. A Napoleons complex. Ronk and Rodriguez are refreshing additions to the Leadership of the Legislature.
ReplyDeleteFeel sorry for mr woltman
DeleteCooperation is one thing, controlling is another. Sometimes people are too dumb or naive to see the difference. I see more rubber stamps coming from the legislature than ever before mainly because Hein's staff is all up in the Legislatures business and most of them like it that way. They are at every meeting, send mail to committee members, and make suggestions to rewrite resolutions that favor the Hein's position. Let's see who is right on that one.
ReplyDeleteBTW... How in the Hell does Kevin Cahill get dragged into this discussion. I will never understand how his name is dragged into every topic good or bad. Some people are obsessive I guess.
It's always about Cahill when it comes to Mike Hein and anyone who disagrees with him. Wait until he finds out he can't push Noble around. Braaahaaa
ReplyDeleteHe can't push Noble around lol lol lol lol lol Hein will steamroll over Noble
ReplyDeleteoh yea! Saw that coming..... Noble is out of his league in dealing with Hein and will roll over! Unless his puppet masters say differently.
DeletePuppet masters such as Kevin Cahill
ReplyDeleteLooks like Rodreques for Minority leader and Dave Donsldson for whip. Donaldson who broke ties with the caucus and voted with republicans to elect John Parete Chair because he hated Hector, you can't make this stuff up.
ReplyDeleteThere is no leadership in the Democratic Party. It has turned solely into an elect Mike Hein organization and nothing else. Just look at the county wide results. DA-Lost, County Judge-Lost, County Comptroller-WIN**!, County Clerk-Lost, Family Court Judge-Lost, Legislature-Lost. When a major party has a 41,432 (dems) to 29,180 (reps) enrollment advantage and they lose all of those races, something is drastically wrong.
DeleteDoes anyone see this besides me? So by all means, let's make sure Mike Hein gets what he wants and the rest of the County Democrats can go piss up a rope!
** the person who ran was a last minute fill in candidate who went on to lose a town clerks race the next year.
In case you don't know, no one else wanted either of those positions.
