Breaking: John Parete, former Ulster County Party Boss and Legislative Chairman Calls on Cardinale to Step Down as Dem Boss

County Legislator John Parete who chaired the Ulster County Dem committee for over ten years, when the party was still winning elections, called on embattled Party Boss Frank Cardinale to step down as Chairman. It's been close to a week since Cardinale has been seen, what is he in Witness Protection over here or what?! More later!

  1. He should step down take Hein with him and his cronies

  2. I hope that includes csea pres cimmoreli. Maybe they can all hang out at El Presidente's beach house in Puerto Rico with another layover in cuba along the way

    1. Cimorelli own property in Puerto Rico. If I made $37.00 an hour and didn't have to work for it I'd have a condo somewhere to.

      Delete
    2. Not privy to that information. Not sure what Cimorelli has on the county exec? But this guy does absolutely nothing all day and not a word gets said to him. His coworkers are up on arms about it. He is suppose to be some kind of computer tech but word Is he can't even turn one on.
The former CSEA president he was seen walking the rail trail with on Monday lives up by Phoenicia.
Maybe it has something to do with the rail trail. But him and his flunky vp's will be gone soon. Members are tired of them doing nothing and spending thier dues money like it was his own.
He and his vp's are in trouble over how they are spending dues money. Taking thousands of dollars with bogus mileage reports.
Not sure what the union is doing about it but they confiscated his financial books awhile ago. CSEA foiled the county records on when he had use of county vehicle. Seems he is driving a county vehicle and putting in mileage for mileage reimbursement from the union. These are criminal acts if true and the DA's office may have to get involved.

  3. Seems that Cimorelli is quite the bottom feeder. Taking the hard working members of CSEA dues moneysnd spending it on himself. Him and Hein deserve each other. Easy to go away when your stealing people's money. The attorney general needs to investigate both of them.

    1. I heard he had a big birthday bash in Boston lasr weekend. I wonder if he tried charging the mileage for that back to the union?

    2. Maybe he was bring the political action money for Boston Dems. He's on the sixth floor an awful lot lately. Could just be fixing Heins computer. Lol
Heard he got in a screaming match with a coworker the other day. Seems they are all getting tired of him not pulling his weight. I'll tell Mike Hein on you if you don't do what I say. Was the comment Cimorrelli made.

    3. Typical Cimmorrelli - he pulled the same with his local officers. Called CSEA in Albany every day because they would not go along with his schemes. Then he told them they could not go to the recent conferene in Lake Placid because he's the president and he deides who can go. Funny how some of the county unit officers went but the local officers were denied.

      Delete
    4. He gave himself permission to go on the unit's money. The local treasurer and local secretary had to make their own arrangements. Kudos to City of Kingston and Wallkill for stepping up to the plate and paying for them.

    5. Yes. The local e board had tied his hands and won't let him spend a nickel. Hopefully they will put up a team next year and run the president out of town.

  4. Post more national news like Cahill, why don't you? Someone that follows local politics close enough to recite obscure information better than Mr. Cahill even must follow national elections. Inquiring minds want to know.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Knowing more than Cahill is not that big a feat. People don't go on local blogs to read national news, they go on local blogs to read local news and gossip. That why this blog generates thousands of hits and posts get hundreds of comments and Cahill's is read by a handful of people.

    2. Once again Cimorelli has done Hein a favor. Seems he forgets to file grievances on time or move them forward on a timely manner. Making them null and void.
Past presidents had grievance committee meeting once a month. Mr President has them once a year. Only a matter of time before members start suing CSEA for "duty of fair representation".

  17. Im hearing little Stevie Nobles good buddy and recently hired Grant Manager Christie Wilson has been double dipping duuring her tenureship here. She is being paid full pay while only working part time at City Hall and working the other half of her day at Cornell Co-operative. Disgraced detective Mathews actually went to prison for the exact same thing. She is also being paid a step 6 when she should be paid a step 1 in her grade level per union contract. This employee is a dept head and is signing off on her paycheck. This behavior constututes a felony but she and her husband are close friend with the Nobles. All that bullshit Noble fed the public about taking resumes was a farce....she had the nob without leavi g the house!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hiring your friends is one of the perks of the job and Noble is enjoying those perks......every hire has been a friend of his

      Delete
    2. Yes,but this friend is stealing from the City, she is working half days and being paid for full days for the past five weeks... It is all coming to light now that the comptroller is calling out the front office. Furthermore, to be continued!

      Delete
    3. You're all idiots. They announced the new people in the paper. No secrecy for any of them. Everyone knew who was hired and when. She started part time so she could finish her previous job and learn the ropes at the new job. No double dipping

      Delete
    4. The issue is that this woman is being paid for FULL days when she is working HALF days!! She is being paid by City when she is at Cornell Cooperative. That is called double dipping, that is what Mathews was jailed for, where you been 2:24? She is also being over paid on top of the double dipping because she is receiving step six salary when it should be step one like the contract says, got it?

      Delete
    5. Grant manager is not a union position I believe. Therefore they can pay her whatever they want.

      Delete
    6. On yes it is, better check your facts. Her position is Union. She has worked half days and has been paid full days on a. Hourly rate for WEEKS! All of cityhall knows and it is scandelous. The press should cover this, it is a major discrepency.

      Delete
    7. She is not union and the contract does not apply. Please get a copy and tell me where grant writer is listed. Maybe she has a different title. But grant writer is not listed. Don't care how pissed off city hall people are. Most have never even seen a copy of the contract let alone read it.

      Delete
    8. 2:24..who exactly is she learning the ropes from? Gregg Swanzey was gone. Supposedly she was a "expert" in grant writing. Should be able to step right into the position. Tells me she is small potatoes in writing grants..Not too sure how many million dollar grants she has written while at Cooperate Extension. Haven't seen a lot of big projects coming from Cornell Co-op Extension on a regular basis.

      Delete
    9. If she is a department head 11:43 then she is not a union member. Ergo, the same rules do not apply. You people really need to get your act together.

    1. Yes, they do.

And they are not spending it well.

      Delete
    2. Really? Not spending our time well? You dont think holding an employee accountable that is being overpaid with taxpayer money as time well spent? Your fucking clueless. This employee, Cristine Wilson is currently on a weeks vacation and getting vacation pay after only on payroll for less than two months!! No other employee is able to do so, why her? Because she is nice and cozy with the Nobles. You can sum up the Noble administration thus far as arrogant. This chick needs to be held accountable.

      Delete
    3. And the mayor`s secretary got two weeks vacation after two months on the payroll and not entitled to it either...

      Delete
    4. Look she is not covered under CSEA contract. She is hired at the pleasure of the Mayor. Just like Finkle, Fuentes, Madsen and Swanzy. As long as there is money in the budget the mayor can make almost any deal he wants.
Just like the computer guy. He makes his own deals. Got a 10k raise a few years ago.

      Delete
    5. 3:56. The computer guy got a raise because he is now working for city hall and the water dept. The two entities split his "raise." SO lets make sure the Mayor has no more money in the budget to hire anymore bodies. Budget time will be coming up soon enough and Common Council must do their job.

      Delete
  19. Yup that's s first. Mayor hiring friends. Sure she was the most qualified. To the victors goes the spoils.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I dont think you understand 6:13, everbody knows to the victor goes the spoils in any administation but that is not the primary issue here. This Cristine Wilson is friends with the Nobles, however she has been, and continues to be paid for hours she has not worked and that is against the law. The City Comptroller has discovered this and has called out the Mayor. The Mayor is trying his best to keep this hush hush, but that is impossible in Cityhall. People in this community have gone to prison and or lodt their jobs for exactly the same thing so lets not brush this away so cavelierly. This IS gonna come out, people are pissed in Cityhall and quite frankly it should. We are galjing about taxpayer money being falsely earned, its a crime.

      Delete
    2. And she know it.

      Delete
    3. Ok. Then make her pay back the money. Or fire her. If the mayor is involved then he has to go too.
Oops that makes uncle jimmy in charge. If it's on this blog and "true". Why hasn't the attorney General been notified. Quit crying on this blog and do something about it.

      Delete
    4. Well then if it's true we should have a new mayor by the end of the week. But I think you are all on a witch hunt and will come up empty. Little Stevie is smarter than you give him credit for b
At least we should be reading something in the paper soon.

      Delete
    5. Paper don`t report on it

      Delete
    6. Stop it 10:48. If what is being reported on this blog is accurate then the papers would be all over it. Just like the Mike Schupp truck incident. No proof.

      Delete
    7. No proof and not accurate are too totally different things. The local papers not lifting a finger to investigate is also different than no proof as well.

      Delete
    8. The local papers don't know yet, the comptroller just discovered late last week. Let's make sure our money that she was overpaid gets returned. She is NOT a salaried employee she IS a union member and her position IS part of the CSEA bargaining unit in Kingston. That is a fact, but if your looking in the current contract you are not going to find her position because the contract was printed up before her position was added. Miss Wilson was hired by the Mayor , but does not serve at the pleasure of the mayor.

      Delete
    9. Well then the matter is simple. Just file a grievance. Although the Mayor can grant her additional personal time. No limit on how much

      Delete
    10. Really!
      You know this how?

    13. Because I've read the contract 5:23. Maybe you should also. While you are at it go to civil service and pick up a job description for grant manager. Doesn't exist. Or see if they ordered the civil service test for that position.

She also has up to ten sick days the city can lend her.

      Delete
    14. ok so your saying that they can hire someone who doesn't have to complete their hours buts its ok because there are ways to get around it? They can give her sick time? Comp time? I would say that giving an employee unearned time would be illegal in itself.

Unfortunately the farce of "One Kingston" turns out to be nothing more than a facade, a gimmick, and a cute little moniker which conceals an administration just like all the others--riddled with corruption, scandals, deceit, favoritism, cronyism, and outright lying to the people.
Congratulations Steve Noble--Boss Tweed is smiling in his grave.

    3. Angry losers? Are you referring the tax payers who are going to have to pay the expenses of the mayor's mistakes. Look around here and realize that we don't have the luxury of foolishly spending. The argument that Kristen is nice and should be paid more is insane. Start the pay lower and let her prove she is worth the raise. The very nature of her job will provide a raise of she is good at it.

    4. You sound like someone on the inside benefitting from the favoritism off the backs of taxpayers.

If you consider a taxpayer on the outside, then you need a reality check.

    9. 10:31. Why not complain about Hein putting that idiot Cimorelli into a no work job. He's not even qualified to do the job that he's not doing. This is almost a $70,000.00 a year position. To ride around all day or take a walk on the rail trail. Get your priorities straight. What did Kristen get. 6 or 7 hundred bucks.

    10. Chri was guilty. no shit

    11. Yes 12:36 Gallo screwed the city big time. Chris Rea was guilty of nothing. 60 some charges and the hearing officer, that Gallo hired, said he did nothing wrong. That's a fact jack

    14. 8:38 and 10:24 Who writes shit like that? You take pride in a nascent administration that already appears incompetent and corrupt? That has its balls in the vice grip of some fat chick who promulgates fear and cranks out bullshit on social media? That denies its constituents the transparency it campaigned on? That's seldom called out and criticized by local newspapers because they support his agenda? Calling citizens who voice legitimate concerns"losers"? I've never been political in any way other than exercising my right to vote, but if this crap continues in city hall, I'll do my best to marshal everyone I know who feels as I do and and get a whole new slate of actors to represent us in the next election.

    15. WTF are you talking about 12:24PM? The previous administration had a AA- credit rating which was unheard of during previous administrations. In four years moving forward this city as we knew it will be bankrupt and you can thank kid noble for it. He is inexperienced and unqualified. He bullshitted his way to the office and his term will be short-lived.

  56. Noble said given his limited time as mayor he didn't think to consult the contract. What about the police promotions that was his first act as mayor. Did he act within the Charter and law with that decision? Can't blame Corporate Counsel he didn't have anyone then. Good luck Kingston! Gallo called it when he said God help Kingston!

    5. The Mayor screwed up by putting that job title in the bargaining unit.
Wasn't smart for the union going public with this. With their contract set to expire this year doesn't make sense to bite the hand that feeds you. The Sottile administration canned twenty of them when they pulled this crap a few years ago. Their president has been thrown out of the civil service office for being obnoxious. The messages he left for the Mayor you couldn't even understand.

    7. 2:56: you are forgetting that this new Mayor doesn't have the same mindset as previous administrations. He appears to hide and let his press secretary do the speaking. He is not confrontational and does not appear strong to do what you said Sottile did. And believe me..when the new budget process is started again some "new" positions will have to go.people are already complaining about the rising school and property taxes which is on the horizon. His planned spending for "projects" are truly concerning..should be saving for that rainy day.

      Delete
    8. The new positions you speak of simply replace other positions that were already budgeted for. No increase in this years budget.

      Delete
    9. 11:39.. that was then, this is now..The city has had more infrastructure expenses since 2015/2016 budget. New budget process starts at the end of this summer 2016/2017. You are missing the point. Budgeted doesn't mean you have to spend it. Exactly what position was replaced ?? past administrations did without a communications director/community engagement coordinator. We did need a grant writer but Noble didn't keep Swanzey in place who was experienced. Now we have some part time jobs here and there..The Hodge has PT help. a clerk got a raise who is an support position for there and Parks and Rec.and now possibly engineer dept. and a new Business support office.(has not been filled yet)..some kind of made up job title. Add in benefits and the expenses rise.
Just because city budgeted and has a possible excess of money from a previous year does NOT mean we have to spend it. Due to numerous necessary bonding issues the city has debt mounting and it gets paid off by the taxpayers thru property taxes. Sales tax formula will be felt as budgets go forward. Why not put the funds towards those type of expenses. The biggest possible expense coming is the re-negotiation of contracts for KPD,KFD and DPW. Always on the horizons are employees retiring and the payouts they get when they leave. Rumor has it that possibly there will be 6 retirees from several depts. Oh, and of course there is the electric car for KPD traffic enforcement? Seriously? The last time I looked KPD did not have a traffic division.

    10. When your Mayor you can do whatever you want. If you don't like the direction the City moving in leave. Or stay here and pull your hair out (oops) watching the show. The previous administration left the city in bad financial situation. The Chris Rea debacle cost the taxpayers 300k plus legal costs.

The people don't care about Kristen getting a couple hundred bucks more. The don't care that Hein is paying $70,000.00 a year to keep the union in check. People don't care except for the few that read these blogs. And that's not enough to make a difference is it?

    2. Considering the Gallo/Clement election was decided by six votes you can't really say the blogs don't matter. Especially a blog drawing as many comments as this about a small subject, clearly people are reading. I hear about this damn blog from people all the time. I never admit I read it but I do.

  68. Not a city resident, so this doesn't affect me, but I would have serious concerns about this sales tax deal, if I were on the Common Council. There are two major taxes that provide ongoing revenue...property tax and sales tax. If sales tax is capped, there is only one way to pay for increases in labor contracts, and that is by raising the property tax. Leads to decrease in property values and loss of business. Essentially a disaster in 2017. Great political entertainment, but feel sorry for my Kingston neighbors if this deal is signed.
