  4. So now Loughran is concerned about the sale of the Alms House to RUPCO. He had no consideration for COK residents during the sales tax negotiations, and final vote of the agreement. What a F K A H.

  6. The Alms House? What's next? The hospital when it closes? The Armour Dynamics building? Macy's? JC Penney's?

  7. they should make a generous offer to the Dr. who is looking to open an indoor range. The Armour Dynamics would be a good fit but he would need a price break. Hell, the Mayor gives away property for a $1.00 Why not here if the Dr will bring in employment as he has stated.plus sales tax and federal excise taxes. but then again the anti gun hysteria movement would probably interfere.. too close to the Hudson river and might disrupt the underwater life and organisms.

    1. If the mayor and his corporation weasels were real men, they would've had a meeting and said "Look, we like the idea and recognize the need, but we have these psychos breathing down our necks and can't let you do it on Prince Street. We have this building on the outskirts of the city that we paid for and is sitting fallow, why don't we work out a deal." But NOOOOO, the administration has be what it is, weak and incompetent. What a fucking embarrassment.

    2. The city has shot its wad on trust. Nobody believes what they say and you can't invest that kind of money in a city run by really stupid, unstable people.

    3. 7:48: Current city administration has blinders on..focused way too much on projects that do not bring real revenue and property tax relief to taxpayers. Environmental issues get too much attention. Not saying that it is a bad focus but conforming totally to that ideology currently is too expensive to institute. And really how many more environmental studies do we need.? They have covered, the air & water quality, rising waters/flood issues, brownfields and etc.. We have to address employment issues, tax relief and job creations. Inner city youth programs are good but it neglects other families that just might not be directly in the poverty zone. They are hurting economically and more than likely they are the ones paying the taxes so that the under privilege can enjoy and partake of those services. These are possibly homeowners going into mortgage or tax foreclosures. Mayor has to provide services to all parts of the population with all different ideologies and interests. Not just to one group who elected him. Something for all of the population..Little bit of this..a little bit of that. Keep it balanced. last but not least, grants can be short lived so to put eggs in one basket thinking we can apply for grants with out a sound sustaining plan, once they dry up, is folly. wasted tax payers money.. many studies overlap . use the obtained data for further projects without spending money for more consultants. If this administration is taking their cues from NYS sponsored programs they are in risk of failure. When was the last time anybody said NYS is thriving, and when has NYS created a thriving business plan or business. (ex. StartUpNY, Solar panel/products productions) They are begging for economic revival and failing miserably.

    4. Once again it flows back to gallos inability to focus and his A.D.D. approach to governing. It was Gallo who was paying so much attention to his war with Dunn and Will that he failed to take advantage of his 7-2 majority on the counsel. If he had been focused on this eighteen months ago when the project was first proposed, and noticed that his planning board was considering a project that violated the city code, he could have sent an amendment to the counsel and fixed the firearms ban when he had the votes. Instead, he chose to continue arguing with a block of two out of nine while the public got sick of him.

So why blame noble for furthering the agenda of those who elected him instead of recognizing the extent that Gallo betrayed those who elected him.

    5. 11:44 so you are saying two wrongs make it right?? Don't follow the logic of your post.
Now we have this new issue ICC (irish culture center) design which has changed several times and each time it gets more grandiose and less integrated into the nearby architecture and design requirements of the Rondout area. and more request for a zone changes. But then look who is now on board as the architect ..the infamous former council man, Brad Will. ( one of the two as you say) Just tryin' to make a livin'. Lets see what this Mayor has to say.... always quiet & waiting for feedback and haven't heard if he endorses the new requests... which in current codes would not be allowed. gonna' change it for a single project? Heard that with the indoor range opponents.

  12. Maybe the Irish center will add a shooting range in the basement

    ReplyDelete
  13. The shooting range and Irish Center are moving to the Town of Ulster along with Bengal and everyone else. Bring on the tax base, let these idiots in Kingston see their tax base go to zero and then they can live in their own filth.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would move to the TOU as COK is not business friendly at all.

    ReplyDelete
  15. and now the Alms House will be low income housing....seriously..It is starting to be like the old saying..If you build it they will come...yeah, people coming here for the social service benefits and the middle class gets screwed again...Cannot seem to get properties back on the tax rolls... or gainful employment from business entities. Boo! ya' scared them all away...

  16. The shooting range building would have been back on the taxes, but not now good job COK.

    1. His building for the proposed indoor range is now for sale at #90 Prince St. Great job COK business development!! Is this how the new Mayor's "vision" works?? His so called dept for supporting small businesses as he touted in his inaugural address already a failure after 7 months in office. God, we still have almost 4 more years of his narrow vision. Really scary. Not to mention the Industrial Business Park still remains almost empty. Industry is NOT coming.

    2. The building is on the tax role now and will remain there if purchased.

  17. The question is if purchased and god forbid if someone wanted to open a new business. Rebecca Martin and company would be against it
